The Human Resources department of Chandris (Hellas) Inc. is responsible for the selection and recruitment of competent, qualified, trained and medically fit seagoing personnel. This is always adopted in accordance with vessel requirements and International and Flag State regulations, and ensures that the Company has sufficient seagoing personnel to man its vessels.

Chandris (Hellas) Inc., employs more than 300 high-skilled, experienced and competent seafarers on board its fleet by emphasizing to the recruitment and development process of its people, through a detailed selection process combined with extensive induction programs. Our company has over 550 seamen in its pool and in general, all ships are mostly manned with seafarers of Greek, Filipino, Ukrainian and Romanian nationality.

We take the private data information of individuals very seriously and have successfully adopted the data protection actions in order to comply with upcurrent GDPR policies.

The Company currently employs over 60 well-trained and highly motivated personnel at the head Office in Piraeus. Employees benefit from individualized personal development plans, on-going training programs to ensure that they go beyond Chandris (Hellas) high standards and achieve their professional career aspirations.

For the Greek flagged vessels, the employment of Greek seafarers exceeds the minimum mandatory requirements of the Flag Administration (Greece).

On-Education

The Company is further contributing to the education of the next generation of Greek Officers by employing 2 Deck and 2 Engine trainees per Greek flag vessel from every training semester.

The majority of our Officers have been promoted within the Company’s fleet (about 85% of senior officers).

We pride ourselves for the retention rate of 91% and also that 70% of our shore-based superintendents and managers are from our own seafarers.
